On October 23rd, Kings of Leon will be performing songs from their chart-topping new album at
the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, close to Boulder.
Only by the Night, the fourth album by the southern rockers, is already one of the fastest
selling records of the year, and features the hit single Sex on Fire, a top 20 hit in the US Modern
Rock chart.
Fronted by Caleb Followill, the Kings of Leon are made up of three brothers and a cousin, all
of whom were born and raised in the musical hotbed that is Tennessee.
Along with their religious upbringing - their father was a preacher - time spent in Oklahoma
and Nashville contributed to their sound, which is a mixture of southern blues and garage rock.
As well as being talented musicians, the Followill family also knows how to rock, and the
band have built up an impressive selection of hits over the last five years - including Molly's
Chambers, The Bucket, On Call and Fans.
Only by the Night is their largest sounding record yet, and will be perfectly suited to the
Fillmore's impressive stage. Anyone attending the show can book into a Boulder hotel for easy
accommodation.
